"We used to have a lot of manual processes for localization. We would spend multiple resources and a week or two on publishing content.
Rubric now takes the content directly out of our system. Per language we’re probably saving at least a week of our time. It also allows a lot of flexibility for us to QA or to make updates at any point."

Software Localization

Software localization for your dev cycle

Dev teams often find working with translations a nightmare. Do your developers grumble that the content hand-offs are inefficient, or complain translators mess with their code?
They're probably right! Most translation services just don't have the necessary experience or expertise to consistently and efficiently localize software. What if your translation provider really understood the complexities of developing software?
At Rubric, we get it. Our software localization services effortlessly hook into your unique development pipeline. Handling translations becomes almost effortless for your team.
Our team becomes part of your team

A dedicated program manager makes your work easier

With most translation providers, you are in forced to be in contact with many people — the provider's finance department, project team members, account managers…
This takes up a huge amount of your time and energy. It makes software localization even more stressful and adds to your workload and that of your development team.
With Rubric, your dedicated program manager leads a team of expert project managers and experienced techies. They look for ways to make your software localization process more efficient and effective by combining the best of technology with highest quality translations.
Rubric Tools

Save time with dev-optimized automations

Eliminate unnecessary manual operations and save hundreds of hours in the process.
With most translation services, your team wastes countless hours copy-and-pasting content to send to the translators, then countless more incorporating the translated content back into your code.
With our suite of over 200 automation tools you:
  • Spend less time handling translations and more time growing your business.
  • Submit new releases for translation automatically to align with your release schedule.
  • Eliminate the errors caused by manual handling of content.
Workflow Optimization

Optimize your software localization process with each release

For many software developers, localization feels painfully inefficient. Each new language creates more engineering work for your already-stretched teams.
With Rubric, our goal is to make less engineering for you, not more. Your dedicated project manager works closely with you to seamlessly integrate our activities directly into your development pipeline.
In each cycle, they help you find more ways to improve the efficiency of your localization process and remove as many manual steps as possible.

How we handle your software localization project

We don't just translate your software…
When you start a software localization project with us, we take it through our 8-step process. This ensures you are getting the most from your localization budget.
Do you have a rush job? No problem. This process can be quick, but it's important for ensuring your translation is efficient.
Here is the process we follow when onboarding you…
1 General information
We determine your needs and pain points, your localization stakeholders and your tooling.
2 Source file analysis
Our content analysts examine your source files to identify the best way to localize your content and automate the processes of file transfer and string QA.
3 Scope, schedule, and costs
We work with you to determine the exact scope of work required. Together, we then set the project schedule and finalize costs.
4 Your dedicated team
We assign your dedicated Program Manager who will lead a team of Project Managers. They will guide your project from here.
5 Project team assembled
The custom team for your project will depend on the scope of work. It will normally include expert software translators and our in-house tech team, plus other experts as required.
6 Process recommendations
We identify the most efficient way for us to receive content from you and deliver the translated versions. We will recommend ways we can make the localization process more streamlined and cost effective. This starts the process of continuous improvement that is a key benefit of working with Rubric.
7 Software localization begins
Your project team will get to work. By this stage, every software localization project looks different, as we have catered the process to your unique needs.
8 Iterate and Improve
There's a reason our clients often stay with us for decades. With every project we help you to further improve the efficiency of your translation process. Over time, the savings and improvements you make can be huge.
At each stage, we identify potential risks and mitigate them with an Identify + Assess + Plan framework

"Rubric really helped negotiate around the timeline.

With three deliveries and two drops per product per update, we had to find a rhythm that worked for both our team and the translators."
